So, I’m off with Krash later this week to do dinner, and then check out a space we’re thinking of renting together. Yes, it’s come to that point in the relationship.
Our gear is thinking of renting a space together. *lol*
We’re both concerned parents. We figured we’d better get together and discuss it. Our gear has been dating for a while – going out to parties together and stuff, getting home at all hours of the night and morning, trailing cables and adapters. We think it’s about time that we chaperoned it.
Both of us have been trying to get a space for studio, workshop and party stuff for years, and both keep getting stuck with friends who’s passion for the idea or rent promises dissapear when they sober up. Both of us need studio space, both of us want to throw parties, both of us are up to our necks in people with nowhere for gear, nowhere to run workshops, or nowhere to shoot video, or…
So, both of us are cash on the barrel head types who work well together. We also both know the business side of art and entertainment. Nice fit.
It doesn’t hurt that she’s a goddess either. *laugh*
So, I’m looking forward to checking the space out. I may try to drag Scully in to size it up for sound as well. He’s about the best sound and light tech that money can’t buy. He’s also been looking for a space for Damp;B parties.
Anyone else seriously interested? I mean, seriously. We’re talking a minimum of 3 bills a month up front to get involved at this point. No flailers that think that “all you need is love” need apply.
We’ll probably call the space purgatory and run along the lines of the old Magick Theatre space. Friday and Saturday nights from 10pm to 10am will probably be reserved for an ongoing series of events that Krash and I doing to pay the bills, but that leaves a lot of other studio and event time…
Well, it’s too early to say anything for sure until we lock down a space, but this is looking promising. Actually dealing with a pro for a change. So nice.
